How Successful is the Tips from Former Smokers CDC Campaign?

CDC’s popular Tips from Former Smokers campaign really hits home with its graphic messages presented by former smokers who don’t sugar coat the consequences of smoking.

The ad campaign ran for 3 months and has caused an estimated 100,000 smokers to quit. Funded by The Affordable Care Act, The Tips campaign spent only $480 per smoker who quit, which may sound like a lot of money, but is incomparably less than the $37,000 taxpayer dollars absorbed by the average smoker in medical expenses.
